New FUSN.org Web Site to Debut in Early November

About two years ago, the FUSN Board of Trustees appointed a committee to develop a new web site to create a contemporary online experience for the community and to attract terrific ministerial candidates. We expect to launch the site in early November.

The new site’s look and feel is fresh. Information is organized a bit differently, so please take a few minutes to explore. This new site will allow us to publish more timely and relevant information and have livelier interchanges online. The staff, lay leaders, and the FUSN Web team will all be helping to maintain and build the site. Our vision is that the new web site will become a community center.

Sign Up for Your New Account

Most of the information on the web site is open to the public. However, at the request of the board, everything password protected on the old site will be password protected on the new site. You will not be able to see or access password‐protected pages until you sign up for your own account. Here’s how:

  • Go the web site ‐‐ either after the launch at http://www.fusn.org/ or right now at http://old.fusn.org/.
  • Click on “Create new account” located in the right column, fill in requested info, CLICK ONCE, and then check your email for [nearly instant] confirmation. You will prompted to choose a secure password but you make the choice.
  • An actual human being will okay your request [not so instant] and you’ll receive confirmation by email, then you can log in and roam the site.

The individual accounts are worth this effort because they enable interactive features such as online discussions among RE teachers or COA mentors or a classifieds page.

Navigating the New Site

The home page is designed to welcome both regulars and newcomers. In the right hand column, you will find lists of Upcoming Services and Upcoming Events. News & Notes in the main column will point to timely information. Community Tools offers links to the FUSN calendar, newsletter, yellow pages, a leadership list, and more. At the top of each page, you will see tabs for Home and these sections: New To FUSN, Ministries, FUSN Life, and About Us. Double click for page descriptions in a section or use the dropdown menu to go directly to a page.

Thanks for your patience—we look forward to your suggestions!
